Postal Services during a flood event
We all know that flooding causes disruption to postal deliveries which can be delayed until the water subsides sufficiently to allow the postmen to access flooded properties, and this can affect urgent or important mail.
Thanks to the hard work and perseverance of one of the PFDG members, a unique agreement which is specific to Purley, has finally been reached with Royal Mail to overcome this problem during flood events.
Householders at risk will receive a letter from Royal Mail in which details of the arrangement will be set out and asking for their permission to be included in the scheme which will be implemented by the local Flood Wardens. The alternative option for individuals to collect their own mail from Pangbourne will of course remain.
